Hi and welcome to my new website, dedicated too everything linux. Linux is the Unix Operating Syatem. In reality Linux strives to be a free and open source OS. Althought there are commerical software available for it. My favourite flavour is Fedora, as it is Red Hat sponcered. Red Hat has been the longest running distro of linux. It was available, too students, and was considered too be somewhat of a 'dark art' of IT. Linux has come of age, and has matured enough to be an equal to that other OS some might have heard of Microsoft Windows.

With the newest release of Fedora, Fedora 8, codenamed Werewolf. The installation is a breeze. Things I noticed on my 1st time use of it was that I didnt even need too install java. Which was sometimes very frustrating to install. Setting up my nVidia card was a doddle all I had too do was type :- 'yum install kmod-nVidia'. They've also merged Beryl and Compiz, all you need to do is click on the enable desktop effects too activate it. I am still a pretty new user to linux, however I have follwed Fedora since FC3, and have noticed a consdierable change since Fedora 7 Moonshine.
